January 17 Satoko Fujii: Guest host Mark Keill has chosen highlights from the latest series of four Orchestra recordings released in 2006 by Japanese composer and pianist Satoko Fujii.

Tonight "Fields" from 1988 with Bobby Bradford, Andrew Cyrille, Marty Ehrlich, Fred Hopkins, Benny Powell & Don Preston.

February 7 Listen Before You Buy: The cream of the crop of recent jazz releases.
Will be chosen from Catz in Hatz, Eugene Chadbourne, Jack DeJohnette, Kahil El’Zabar, Curtis Glatter,
Gordon Grdina, Brian Groder, Gypsy Schaeffer, Nathan Hubbard, Keefe Jackson, Evalyn Parry, Jonathan Poretz, Jodi Proznick and Zapato Negro.

February 14 Black Divas: Combining Black History Month with St. Valentine’s Day,
Ron brings us the music of Black Divas of the ‘Twenties such as Ester Bigeou, Ida Cox, Lizzie Miles,
Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith, Mamie Smith, Mary Stafford and Sippie Wallace.

February 21 Two Great Groups: A double-header featuring two pioneering groups;
Soft Machine from the ‘seventies and the Microscopic Septet from the ‘eighties.

February 28 Big Bands: Recent releases by the big bands of Jimmy Heath, Thad Jones,
Nathan Hubbard, Netherlands Metropole Orchestra, Fred Stride, Wayne Wallace and Paul Whiteman.
