BUD POWELL:

We’ll hear this innovative pianist in his favourite setting - leading his trio –
in 25 sessions between January 1947 and April 1962. We’ll be sampling the sessions chronologically, and wherever possible I’ve chosen compositions by Bud Powell.

We’ll also plug three upcoming Ottawa concerts: Ken Aldcroft at the Avant-Garde
on September 25, the Souljazz Orchestra with the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble at Barrymores on October 3, and the Harley Card Quartet at the National Library & Archives on October 6.
