PAUL QUINICHETTE:

The style and sonority of PAUL QUINICHETTE’s tenor sax so closely resembled that
of LESTER YOUNG [the Prez] that Quinichette became known as the Vice-Prez.
Personally, I find that the beauty of his tone and improvisations takes him far
above the role of mere imitator. Tonight we’ll hear Quinichette’s recordings from
1951 to 1974.

We’ll also give you a taste of the upcoming concert by P. J. Perry at the
NAC Fourth Stage on November 17.
