August 2 Black & Blues: Ron stands in for regular Black & Blues host John Tackaberry, and documents twenty-one years of recordings made in Europe by American blues artists Big Bill Broonzy, Speckled Red, Memphis Slim, Champion Jack Dupree, Lonnie Johnson, Otis Spann, Big Joe Williams, Sonny Boy Williamson, Sunnyland Slim, Roosevelt Sykes, Sippie Wallace, Sleepy John Estes, Eddie Boyd, Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee, Little Brother Montgomery, Robert Pete Williams and Jay McShann.

August 5 Listen Before You Buy: The cream of the crop of recent jazz and blues releases. Will be chosen from: Kyle Asche, Lori Bell, Ronnie Earl, Nicole Edwards,Toninho Horta, Christian Howes, Diane Hubka, Andreas Oberg, Iris Ornig,
Resonance Big Band, Duke Robillard and Cathy Rocco.

August 12 Guelph Jazz Festival: A preview of the artists appearing at the Guelph Jazz Festival between September 9 and September 13, including Jane Bunnett, Marilyn Crispell, Jean Derome, Lori Freedman, Joelle Leandre & the World Saxophone Quartet.

August 19 British Jazz: From 1972, a spirited jam session including
Jeff Clyne, Tubby Hayes, Phil Seamen, John Stevens, Stan Tracey, Trevor Watts and Kenny Wheeler.
From 1984, a concert by the Keith Tippett Septet with Mark Charig, Elton Dean,
Nick Evans, Tony Levin, Paul Rogers and Larry Stabbins.
From 2008, Evan Parker guesting with the French group Marteau Rouge.

August 26 Lester Young: The great tenor saxophonist and clarinetist Lester Young was born on August 27, 1909. We’ll celebrate his distinguished career.

September 2 Listen Before You Buy: Ron reviews recent jazz and blues releases by Bobby Broom, Petr Cancura, Mon David, Sarah DeLeo, Elli Fordyce, Zac Harmon, Homemade Jamz, Hailey Niswanger, Andrew Scott, Brother John Sellers, Watermelon Slim, the Twisters and Mike & Kate Westbrook.

September 9 Hiromi: Guest host Jean Thibault has chosen cuts from four CDs by Japanese pianist Hiromi:Brain (2004), Time Control (2007), Beyond Standard (2008) and Duet with Chick Corea (2008).

September 16 The Mode Label: This mainly classical label has put out four exquisite jazz recordings, by Anthony Braxton, Roland Dahinden, John Heward,
Steve Lacy, Joe McPhee and the Respect Sextet. We’ll sample all four.

September 23 Piano Special: More than a handful of piano-led groups, including As If Trio, John Beasley, Bill Cunliffe, Mike Garson, Gene Harris, Lawrence Hobgood, Dick Hyman, Jermaine Landsberger, Marilyn Lerner and Michael Jefry Stevens.

September 30 Leading Edge: Recordings of musicians who are working at the leading edge of contemporary jazz and improvised music, such as Sean Bergin, Blah Blah 666,
Anthony Braxton, I Compani, Bruce Freedman, Normand Guilbeault, Jean Martin, Joe Morris, Saint Dirt School, Cory Weeds and Raoul van der Weide.
