HOAGY CARMICHAEL: We celebrate the 110th anniversary of the birth of composer, pianist, singer and band leader Hoagy Carmichael.

We will concentrate on six of Hoagy's early compositions – Riverboat Shuffle,
Washboard Blues, Star Dust, Georgia On My Mind, Rockin’ Chair and Lazy River,
as interpreted through the years by Hoagy, Louis Armstrong, Mildred Bailey,
the Benson Orchestra of Chicago, Bill Charlap, Ray Charles, Chicago Hot Five, Coleman Hawkins, Red Holloway, Curtis Mosby, Mound City Blue Blowers,
Leon Redbone, Washboard Rhythm Kings and Paul Whiteman.

We will take a moment to plug two upcoming Ottawa concerts, the first by Quartetski
[November 16 at the NAC Fourth Stage] and the second by the Geoff Lapp Trio [November 29 at the First Unitarian Church @ 30 Cleary Avenue].
