WADADA LEO SMITH'S "TEN FREEDOM SUMMERS".
Subtitled "The Defining Moments in the History of the United States of America", Wadada Leo Smith has composed music for nineteen key moments, starting with the Dred Scott Decision in 1957 and ending with Martin Luther King Junior's prophesy in Memphis just prior to his death. These compositions emphasise the relationship between the Civil Rights movement and the music that inspired and sustained them.
