September 10 London Bridge Is Falling Down: Mike Westbrook’s jazz opera, with Chris Biscoe, Brian Godding, Paul Nieman,
Graham Russell, Kate Westbrook, Peter Whyman
and Le Sinfonietta de Picardie.

September 17 Lester Bowie:
A tribute to the great trumpeter/composer/bandleader, concentrating on his work away from the Art Ensemble of Chicago.

September 24 Bud Powell: A survey of the career of this innovative pianist/composer/bandleader, who was born on September 27, 1924.

October 1 Listen Before You Buy: Recent jazz and blues releases by Big Bent Braam, Georg Breinschmid, Jamie Davis,
Kate Hammett-Vaughan, Chris Harper,
Sandy Mosse, Cy Touff, Way Out West and Corey Wilkes.

October 8 Sonny Rollins & Don Cherry: The unlikely but successful partnership of Sonny Rollins and Don Cherry in 1962 and 1963 gave rise to seven studio or concert recordings. We’ll sample four of these sessions.

October 15 Guitar Special: The guitar sounds of
Steve Dawson, Scott Ellison, Moonchild Haddix, Samuel James,
Chris James, Liz Mandeville, Big Dave McLean, Watermelon Slim, Byther Smith and Stickman.

October 22 Firsts: A double-header featuring guitarist Rene Thomas’ first recordings as a leader, and pianist Duke Jordan’s first Blue Note session.

October 29 Meet Mr. Johnson: Meet Budd, Bunk, Dink, Freddy, Henry, Howard, James P, JJ, Ken, Lonnie, Mark Courtney, Molly, Pete, Russ, Syl & Vernard JOHNSON.
